Scott Cooper Receives Milton D. Rosenberg Award

Scott Cooper, partner in Schmidt Kramer P.C. will receive the prestigious Milton D. Rosenberg award from the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (formerly the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association) at its annual Convention next month on Philadelphia. The Rosenberg award is the most prestigious award given by the organization and is presented annually to a trial lawyer whose devotion to injured victims, qualities of leadership and service to the organization best represents the life of the late Milton D. Rosenberg, a past president of the Association.



High Court to Rule on Household Exclusion Clause and Stacking

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has agreed to hear arguments in an insurance case over whether the "household exclusion" clause can limit inter-policy UIM stacking when there is no waiver of stacking.

The court limited the argument in Erie Insurance Exchange v. Baker to whether Section 1738(a) of the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law precludes the application of the clause to prevent stacking of inter-policy underinsured motorist coverage when there was no valid waiver of
